Toreros
Jean Michel Mouiren, also known by his gypsy name "Juan Zingaro", was born on 26 August 1967 in Arles, France. He started painting from a very young age and exhibited regularly since 1996, finding a certain success in the United States, Latin America, Middle East and Australia.
The 11 April of 1998 he realizes "Alhambra" a monumental work on the sand floor of the Arena of Arles, on a surface of 1500 m2, with sand and colored ocher.
Recently Juan Zíngaro performed the original design of the alternative suit of Morenito de Arles, inspired by Arabic ornaments. In this occasion, he was hired by “Alejandro’s” tailoring in Madrid to design the originals suits for the greatest figures of tauromaquia.
This evolution of Juan Zíngaro’s work is developed during his continuous search for aesthetics oriented towards the beauty of the light suit. His interpretation in large paintings already made the viewer enter the privacy and solitude of the torero (bullfighter) minutes before the corrida (bullfight).Although he uses a very classic pictorial technique, the subjects are represented in a very modern way. Each picture is the result of a deep relationship with the model, in which the trust and recognition of the other occupy an important place.
Finally his artistic creation could only lead him to create real costumes, that will be an integral part of the bullfighting action, sheaths of living and palpable beauty.
From now on the pictures that will be realized may also represent the toreros wearing costumes created by the artist.
